WOODINVILLE, WA - The Woodinville Falcons Girls Basketball team continues to dominate the KingCo conference, picking up two wins this week over Eastlake and Skyline.
The Falcons opened the week on Wednesday with a tough road matchup against Eastlake, who leads the Crest division of KingCo. Woodinville trailed by 4 points at halftime, but pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 72-59 win, avenging a loss against Eastlake earlier in the season. The Falcons controlled the boards and picked up 10 steals, which were crucial to the victory due to Eastlake’s superior shooting. Lyla Kahrimanov led the Falcons with 26 points, Jaecy Eggers had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, Jazlyn Wilkerson had 18 points, and Lizzie Ruff and Sienna Bieler combined for the remaining 9 points scored by the Falcons.
Woodinville obliterated Skyline at home on Friday, leading by 20 points at halftime en route to a 82-35 win. The Falcons shot with deadeye accuracy, finishing with a field goal percentage of 57%. The Falcons also gained extra possessions from 17 steals on the game, helping to widen the scoring deficit. Jazlyn Wilkerson led the team with 24 points, Jaecy Eggers had 20 points and 6 assists, Sienna Bieler chipped in with 11 points, and Macartney Noe added 10 points and 5 steals.
With the two wins Woodinville jumps to 14-2 on the season with a 9-0 record in KingCo conference play. Next week, the Falcons will face Peninsula in the MLK Puget Sound Holiday Classic on Monday, Newport at home on Wednesday, and Bothell on the road on Friday.
