Samaya, thank you for being a great mentor throughout my first year of the Journalism club. During the first meeting, you showed a lot of leadership and commitment to the club which is how I knew, I wanted to join. You helped me with many articles and edited my articles even though you were busy with your homework, college applications, etc. I can’t express how happy I am for you to be moving forward with your life, and I can’t wait to see what you do next!

This is a thank you to a neighbor, an incredible editor, an amazing friend, and a ruthless editor. You are the reason I decided to attend Woodinville High School. Had it not been for your outgoing personality that first day I walked up to your doorstep, I probably would not be where I am today. I had my bags packed and my heart set towards another school, but you completely changed all that with one conversation. I cannot thank you enough for convincing me to attend WHS. I have become a stronger and more confident person because of you. You are an awesome leader, and I appreciate your organization and how you never fail to inspire myself and so many others in Journalism Club (I love your inspirational speeches :). You know how to follow through with club initiatives and are willing to keep an open mind as you hear the ideas of other members. I would also like to credit you in helping me develop my own writing skills this year. Your editing has always been open ended so that I have a chance to reflect on my mistakes and learn from them. Finally, I just want to tell you how much of a role model you are for me. Your genuine love for others, your humor, your pride in being yourself, and everything in between is what will allow you to have a bright and promising future. Know that I am always here for you and will always be there to give you support as you have been here for me!

Samaya, thank you for being one of my first role models in Washington! Your love of the club is a joy to observe and brings so much fun to our meetings. Even after our meetings end, you’re super easy to talk to and very genuine. I think what I appreciate most about your contributions is the endless support and excitement you have when uplifting the rest of us. It’s pretty rare to meet someone with as much enthusiasm for the progress of others as you, which made discussing new article ideas and editing so much easier. You’re an incredibly encouraging person, and knowing that any idea I put out would be avidly supported by you made the club super fun! I hope you have fun in college, and I’m excited to see how far your dedication and enthusiasm take you :)))

I just want to begin by saying that you, Parker, are one of the most dedicated and passionate people I have ever met! You have attended almost every single Journalism Club meeting (not to mention the countless meetings of other clubs you are in). This is an amazing quality. Your commitment and motivation has inspired me to put my all into the activities I am passionate about. Furthermore, your humorous and lengthy articles never fail to make me laugh. You have power because you are a skilled writer, and I am confident that you will use this ability to make the world a better place as you journey through life’s different stages. I truly do not think Journalism Club will be the same without you, your politics, and your satire. I appreciate how you have the ability to immediately start up a conversation in which all members are able to participate. Whenever you are in the meeting, it is almost guaranteed that there will never be an awkward, silent moment, as you always have something to talk about. This only contributes to your deep passion for journalism. I am so excited to see where your future leads you, and I hope you will keep in touch with the club!

Parker, your enthusiasm for journalism, politics, and culture was super fun and entertaining to observe all year! I honestly don’t think I’ve met any other high schooler with as much understanding of politics as you, which makes editing your work both interesting and a pain because it’s all completely out of my intellectual depth. I hope you have fun with how far your passion will take you!
